True Teachers do not charge anything.

By Gloria Jean
Knowledge is power but information is just information, and useless in the wrong hands. Information becomes knowledge when it is in the hands of someone who knows or can learn how to use it.

Information should be free

And it is, if you know where to find it. When you purchase compiled information it is the format and the compilation that you are paying for.

True Teachers are not in the business of teaching

The true teachers of spiritual truths, and other things, are not usually in the business of teaching and do not charge for their services. The downside of this kind of teacher is that he or she will probably not be available to everyone, Unless of course you find the teacher on the Internet. In person, a true teacher passes on knowledge to a few and ideally these few will pass it along to others; but the Internet has opened up a world of information for those who seek it.

When the Student is ready

I am sure you have heard the phrase, “When the student is ready, the teacher will appear.” A true teacher is not looking for students and probably has very few. If a person comes to him or her for answers, the teacher will answer or teach that person in the most efficient manner possible, even if it is just to point the way and nothing more. From there, it is completely up the student to continue his quest for knowledge and answers and to gain experience. Most students will learn one or two things and then wander off.

We are all teachers

On some level, we are all teachers. Each person knows something of value that can help someone else. It may only take a few minutes to dispatch the information. So teachers are not necessarily masters of anything. They could be the average Joe you bump into in the street or they could be a vast store of information on a an information super highway of computers.

Who are these people?

So who are these people who call themselves guru’s, teachers and experts who are in the business of teaching and are charging for their information? They are the next level of teachers, but they are also students who have learned something of value and organized it and have decided to pass it along for a price. They see the value of the information they have and they are in the business of selling it.

Some Enjoy Teaching

Some people enjoy teaching and would like to make it their occupation. While there is a need for this level of teacher to reach the masses, and while some of them are good at what they do and know, they are not to be confused with masters (or worshiped as savants or gods.) They are students who have gathered and organized their information and put it into a format that can be understood and used by others. They are authors, consultants and information bookers. But they cannot really teach you anything, they can only present you with their information, opinions and conclusions.

Getting Paid for your work

There is nothing wrong with a teacher getting paid for their time, work and energy as long as they are giving something of value in return. Some students may not appreciate knowledge or valuable information unless they have paid for it; but there are many who pay for information that is available for free and others who pay for information that is not worth what they paid for it.

Books as teachers

A book takes time to create and costs money to produce therefore it can be a valuable product facilitating and exchange of energy and information. Money represents energy and is used in the exchange, although in and of itself paper money has little value compared to the information in a book. A book will always have information, but paper money may not always hold value.

For learning the right way to create web sites, W3Schools.com will have the information you need in learning to apply the knowledge you have. It's all free.

I am very grateful for this teacher. Thank you W3C Schools. The best things in life ARE free.
